It all starts off when a small collection of motivated individuals within a community come together with a shared concern: how can our community respond to the challenges, and opportunities, of Peak Oil and Climate Change?

With the exponential growth in Transition Initiatives around the country, and now increasingly the world, the need has rapidly arisen for training in the basics of Transition for new communities coming on board, and other skills necessary to successfully set up and run a Transition Initiative.

RCCE is hosting a 2-day "fundamentals" course for those wishing to know how to set up, run, and maintain a successful transition initiative, on Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th April 2009 at RCCE office. The cost for the two days is £120 per person (including lunch, tea/coffee, cold drinks).

Objectives of the course

  • To understand the context for transition
  • To understand the Transition Towns model as it has evolved so far – from inspiration to working groups
  • To gain knowledge of the main steps of transition
  • To work out a plan of action for your self and your locality
  • To understand the inner and outer aspects of transition
  • To have the elements of an inspiring talk on Transition Towns.
