Maldon District Local Strategic Partnership is keen to promote and support Parish Plans within the District because it believes that they encourage community empowerment and foster community spirit.

The Parish Plans Market Place aims to encourage greater partnership work at every stage of the Parish Plan process and to inspire parishes to consider undertaking a Parish Plan. The Parish Plan Market Place is an opportunity to meet with partners from all the main organisations to find ways of solving problems together.

This year there will be representatives from:
• the Rural Community Council for Essex (Rural Housing, Village Halls and Parish Plan advice)
• NHS Mid Essex
• the Police
• Highways
• Community Transport
• Making the Links
• Adult Community Learning
• Maldon District Community Safety Partnership
• Essex Local Access Forum
• Community Initiatives Fund
• Housing (Maldon DC)
• Planning (Maldon DC)
• Maldon and District Council for Voluntary Service
• Existing Parish Plan groups who are working in the Maldon District.

• In addition to these organisations, we are hoping that there will be representatives from the Community Speed Watch and Parks and Open Spaces (Maldon DC).

So there should be plenty of opportunity to discuss problems and difficulties and to access advice and information!

The event will begin with a simple sandwich lunch.

Carole Ruse, from West Berkshire Council, will be telling us about the West Berkshire approach to Parish Plans which should be both interesting and inspiring.

And then there will be an opportunity to mingle with and talk to partners from partner organisations to find ways of solving problems together. There will also be some bookable slots for you to speak to a particular organisation about a specific problem or issue in their parish and some time when people can just drop-in for a chat.

We would like to invite representatives from your Parish to attend the event, to help build partnerships at parish, district and county level and to find out more about what can be achieved for your community by a Parish Plan.
