Grassroots Grants

Funding for not-for profit voluntary
or community organisations

Essex Community Foundation has been successful in securing £2million from the Office of the Third Sector, to support the capacity building of small local voluntary and community groups.

Any not-for-profit voluntary or community organisation with an income of less than £20,000, which has been active in their community for not less than 12 months and has a governing document can apply.

The maximum any organisation can be awarded is £5,000 over the life of the Grassroots Programme (July 2008 to March 2011) either as a one-off amount or spread over this period.

Taking actions forward

Through Making the Links, Essex County Council now offer support and financial help with the delivery of the number 1 priority action from a Parish Plan: One priority action per plan will be considered Other sources of funding should be explored if more appropriate (we can advise) A minimum 20% financial commitment from the parish council precept will be required Making the Links will fund up to 80% of the remaining cost of your number 1 priority from your action plan
