Community Planning Grant

Funding for NEW Community-Led Plan groups

Rural Action East has received £34,000 from an ITV donation, to give to community groups across the region.

Grants of £500 are available to all new groups that are in the very early stage of their community-led plans.

Grassroots Grants

Funding for not-for profit voluntary
or community organisations

Essex Community Foundation has been successful in securing £2million from the Office of the Third Sector, to support the capacity building of small local voluntary and community groups.

Any not-for-profit voluntary or community organisation with an income of less than £20,000, which has been active in their community for not less than 12 months and has a governing document can apply.

The maximum any organisation can be awarded is £5,000 over the life of the Grassroots Programme (July 2008 to March 2011) either as a one-off amount or spread over this period.
