Best Kept Churchyard Competition

The 2010 Best Kept Churchyard competition is now open for applications and the form and guidance notes are available to download below. Organisations are encouraged to adopt a Churchyard Management Plan and guidance on the introduction of a plan is available to download.

This competition looks to recognise and reward Churchyards in Essex which are well-managed, providing a peaceful haven for both humans and animals. We encourage entries from Churchyards of all denominations.

Entries may be submitted by any organisation which is responsible for managing a Churchyard. If you are proud of your Churchyard and those who work in it then please consider entering this FREE competition. Three cash prizes of £150, £100 and £50 will be awarded to the winners.

RCCE is grateful to Lodge & Sons (Builders) Ltd for their continued sponsorship of the competition and to all the judges who give their time voluntarily to visit each churchyard.

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 7th April 2010.
