Strategic Influence

Representation and Policy Development

RCCE's independent status enables it to represent the needs of rural communities at every level of government. It is an active player in a range of strategic partnerships including the Essex's Local Area Agreement and the East of England Rural Forum. RCCE's practical experience of working with local communities makes it well placed to advise the statutory sector on policy development and the 'rural proofing' of strategic plans.

Essex Rural Partnership

RCCE manages the Essex Rural Partnership, which brings together in membership different organisations with an aim to secure a sustainable future for the county's rural areas. Other key partners include Essex County Council, District/Borough Councils, Essex Development and Regeneration Agency (ExDRA), Essex Association of Local Councils, Essex Wildlife Trust and many more.

ESTIC

RCCE has played a significant role in the work of ESTIC (Essex, Southend and Thurrock Infrastructure Consortium), including acting as accountable body. ESTIC brings together a range of important voluntary sector partners, who are working together to strengthen the performance and influence of the sector.
