Linking Communities can help:

• maintain local knowledge, contacts and networks
• deliver projects meeting local needs
• Strategic Work – influence the Local Transport Plan and Local Area Agreement while working with Local Strategic Partnerships
• Project Work – develop action plans and making projects happen
• Facilitation Work – work with local communities and Essex County Council to help them identify needs
• Offer independent advice to local people on transport and access options
• Build up Rural Expertise – there is now a regional wide network of transport and access officers with invaluable knowledge
• Help communities form partnerships with other agencies and across parish district and county boundaries to progress ideas and projects
• Share good practice and providing advice on funding streams. (RCCE website, the Link and the Oyster)
• Seek, explore and test innovative forms of service delivery
• Identify funding streams and linking communities/ organisations to these
