Linking Communities can help:
- maintain local knowledge, contacts and networks
- deliver projects meeting local needs
- Strategic Work – influence the Local Transport Plan and Local Area Agreement while working with Local Strategic Partnerships
- Project Work – develop action plans and making projects happen
- Facilitation Work – work with local communities and Essex County Council to help them identify needs
- Offer independent advice to local people on transport and access options
- Build up Rural Expertise – there is now a regional wide network of transport and access officers with invaluable knowledge
- Help communities form partnerships with other agencies and across parish district and county boundaries to progress ideas and projects
- Share good practice and providing advice on funding streams. (RCCE website, the Link and the Oyster)
- Seek, explore and test innovative forms of service delivery
- Identify funding streams and linking communities/ organisations to these
