Community Action Conference

Saturday 13th May 2017, 9.30am to 3pm

At Wickham Bishops Village Hall

This event is open to RCCE members and Community Led Planning Network members. The day should be of interest to those either working on projects for example neighbourhood plans or thinking about new initiatives. It will be a mixture of presentations, networking and workshops, with lunch and refreshments provided.

It will be held at Wickham Bishops village hall – an impressive community building and close to Wickham Bishop’s new affordable housing scheme.

I’m delighted to say that that we will have a presentation from Great Dunmow’s town clerk – Caroline Fuller. Great Dunmow are one of the first to have completed a neighbourhood plan in Essex. Caroline will be coming along to share her experience of the process.

We are also very lucky to have Cllr Bryan Panton from Lavenham who will also be speaking at the event and with us for the day. Bryan is a parish councillor who was involved in Lavenham’s neighbourhood plan and now also involved in the subsequent Community Led Housing Project – a community land trust. This is a great opportunity to hear about Lavenham’s experience and learn more about a Community Led Housing project from a parish’s perspective.

The day will be a mixture of presentations and workshops on the topics of Neighbourhood Planning, Community Led Housing and other community initiatives.

Join our workshops on neighbourhood planning, community led housing, dos and don’ts of funding applications and setting up a group with RCCE’s VH advisor.

Meet other councillors and group members to share good practise, experiences and network.

Opening address from Cllr Kevin Bentley (Deputy Leader of Essex County Council)

To enable more people to attend RCCE is only asking for a contribution towards the day – this cost includes refreshments and lunch.
