Independent examination of accounts

Smaller charities whose annual income is in the range £25,000 to £250,000 are required by the Charity Commission to have an independent examination of their year-end accounts.  If your income is below £25,000 there is no requirement to have accounts independently examined, however, some organisations still choose to do so to satisfy members and funders.  Sometimes external scrutiny is a requirement of an organisation’s constitution.

RCCE Village Hall Advice Service can undertake independent examinations and provide an Independent Examiner’s report for the trustees and the Charity Commission.

Cost:

A quote will be provided on presentation of the accounts and will vary depending on the number of transactions per year and the complexity of the business.

Hourly rate is £28 (X VAT).

As a guide, organisations with turnover less than £25,000 might be expected to take approximately 2 hours; £25,000 to £50,000 might take 3 hours.
