The Forestry Commission in the East of England and East Midlands is promoting free support to forestry businesses thinking of applying for grants within the new Rural Development Programme.
Schemes include Countryside Productivity, LEADER and Growth Funds from Local Enterprise Partnerships.
These may offer grants for:
- Timber harvesting, extraction and primary processing equipment (woodfuel and timber)
- Storage to dry woodfuel
- Training
- Business support
- Co-operation, collaboration and advisory services
During the autumn and winter of 2015 a series of free events has been organised to inform forestry contractors and owner-producers about the grants and to promote the support being offered. There will be a particular focus on LEADER. Whilst there are various events across the region, there is one event being held in Essex:
- Monday 12th October 2015 6.30 to 9pm. Gosfield Lake Golf Club, The Manor House, Gosfield, Halstead, Essex, C09 1SE. Arboricultural sector special, with buffet
There will be limited capacity so you should book early. In the first instance there will be one place per business offered.
