This year the competition was won by St Nicholas Churchyard in Kelvedon Hatch.  A previous place-winner in the competition, judges have seen this churchyard improve and develop to scoop the top prize this year.

In second place, another previous place-winner, St Stephen's at Cold Norton, closely followed by St Andrew's at Wormingford, both of which impressed the judges.  A Highly Commended Certificate was awarded to St Mary & St Christopher at Panfield, where good work continues to be done.  The churchyard at Panfield has been a previous competition winner several times, and it is always a pleasure to visit here.

All of our winners have made special efforts to encourage wildlife into their churchyards, have good management plans and demonstrate involvement of local people in caring for the churchyards.  If you would like information about how to develop a management plan for your churchyard, do contact RCCE for a copy of a guidance leaflet.  We would also welcome new entries next year, and would be happy to advise potential applicants on the areas they would be judged on.

Congratulations to all our winners!
