1) Finance and Administration Manager (posted 15/07/21)

Rural Community Council of Essex (RCCE) is a growing, countywide charity looking for a Finance and Administration Manager to support the delivery of its strategy through the provision of financial, HR and other back office services.

The post will provide a range of financial management services including the processing of invoices, payroll data, reconciliation of bank accounts, submission of VAT returns, preparation of the charity’s annual statutory accounts, annual return, budget and financial forecasts, and the maintenance of financial systems and records, together with the provision of front-line HR services and management of RCCE’s premises.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Ideally five years’ experience in an accountancy role, preferably in the charity sector;
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA/AAT qualification or equivalent experience;
  • Experience in the use of Sage 50 or similar accountancy software;
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
  • Experience of preparing statutory accounts and a knowledge of statutory regulations;
  • The ability to communicate confidently with staff, management at all levels, both verbally and in writing;
  • Knowledge of or an interest in HR/personnel matters and the management of premises;
  • Ability to work without close supervision;
  • An attention to detail

This post will normally be based at the RCCE offices at Feering, near Colchester, but is home based at the moment owing to the pandemic. You are required to have a full driving licence and access to a car.

2) EWS Volunteer Facilitator.

We are seeking a Volunteer Facilitator to support the volunteer experience within Essex Wellbeing Service (EWS). This service has supported thousands of people over the last year and volunteers have been integral to doing that, so this role is an opportunity to be part of a service supporting people across Essex, whether needing support or offering to volunteer their time to help others.

The Volunteer Facilitator post is the main point of contact for volunteers within EWS; from helping with onboarding new volunteers to supporting countywide requests for recruitment of volunteers for emergency or other large scale campaigns.   • Community Agent Tendring District

Looking for a flexible job supporting people in your local community?

Community Agents Essex is seeking to ONE agent to work in the Tendring area.

Community Agents support adults, especially older people and people with learning disabilities and autism and their informal carers,  to enable them to remain living in their own homes. The role involves visiting people in their own homes – on an appointment system – and explaining the help and support that is available to meet their individual needs. It is not a personal caring role.

During Covid home visits are reduced, but undertaken where necessary.

The job is flexible to fit around personal/family commitments, working between 10 and 20 hours a week (minimum 10). The Salary range is £10.00 - £11.00 per hour plus travelling expenses.  Full training and support will be provided but you must have a good knowledge of the local community and the district. An interest in or experience of Learning disabilities and autism would be beneficial but not essential. An enhanced DBS will be carried out.

  • United in Kind Coach (Tendring District)

United in Kind is a social movement encouraging acts of kindness and supporting local people and communities to tackle social isolation and loneliness. Although we have four core groups who are most at risk of loneliness: older people, those with learning disabilities and autism or mental health issues and carers, this is about inclusivity and kindness.

We are looking for someone who can help make things happen, have an understanding or experience of volunteering, developing relationships and supporting people to achieve things in their community.  This is a social movement built on acts of kindness and community spirit. It is about listening to an idea and helping someone make it happen in their community. Or having an idea for acts of kindness and involving people in that. If you have brought ideas to life locally, then we want to hear from you.

You will need to be a proactive person and be computer literate. You need to have a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work. The role involves the need for a DBS certificate and we are particularly interested in those living in Tendring district, with networks and evidence of connections and activity in this locality.

Hours:   25 per week

Salary:   £22,000 pro rata (actual £15,714 per annum)
