General Information

Berden Village Hall - Uttlesford District

Berden is about 8 miles north west of Bishops Stortford, and 7 miles from Saffron Walden. The Village Hall is a converted chapel, and has been much improved and extended over the years. It is a light attractive hall, ideal for family functions, children's parties or regular bookings such as exercise classes or craft groups. The spacious outside areas are fenced off from the car park, making it a secure play area for children. There is ample space on the terrace or the grassed area for a marquee or gazebos if required. To one side of the main hall is a carpeted area, used as a bar on Friday nights by the Social Club, with comfortable chairs and small tables, which makes a pleasant area for smaller meetings, or a quieter space to escape to during a function! The modern kitchen is equiped with a large range cooker, and plenty of china and cutlery. There are baby changing facilities in the "disabled" toilet. Being all on one level, with slopes up to the front door, the hall is easily accessible for wheelchair users, or parents with children in buggies.
