Congratulations to Rowhedge Village Hall which became the first winner of the RCCE Augustine Courtauld 'Essex Village Hall of the Year' competition.
The winners were announced at the recent annual RCCE Village Halls & Community Buildings Conference at Colne Engaine Village Hall. Rowhedge hall committee won a fabulous £1000 prize to spend on a hall project identified in their entry. 2nd prize of £500 went to Messing Village Hall and 3rd prize of £500 went to Felsted Village Hall.
25 halls across the county entered the competition and the final three were shortlisted after careful study of the entry form, the Charity Commission register and visiting the halls.
