Residents of the latest rural housing scheme received the keys to their
new homes on 21 March. Porter Place in Tollesbury has 10 homes with a
mix of one bed flats and two & three bed houses. RCCE's Rural
Housing Enabler worked with the parish council, Maldon District Council
and Hastoe Housing Association to carry out a housing needs survey in
October 2010 which identified the need for this type of housing within
the parish.Hastoe Housing Association had to overcome a number of planning issues to see this scheme to fruition but everyone agreed at the viewing the hard work had been worthwhile. One resident was so excited about receiving the keys to his family's new home he was there 2 hours before the appointed time.
