Walkers will take to the footpaths around the villages of Danbury and Little Baddow on Saturday 26 April for the latest in a series of fund raising walks to raise money for the Essex Rural Fund. Previous walks have taken in Mersea Island, Hatfield Forest and the Colne Valley, so this one will feature another delightfully unspoilt part of the Essex countryside, with lots of attractive woodland, owned or managed by the National Trust.

RCCE set up the Essex Rural Fund in 2009, to mark its 80 anniversary. The aim is to create an independent source of funding exclusively designed to help community groups and charities working in the rural areas of the county. Thanks to an active programme of fund raising led by RCCE trustees and staff, some

limited grant making has commenced over the past two years. With further support it is hoped to grow the Fund, which is managed on RCCE's behalf by Essex Community Foundation, into a much more substantial source of help for our villages.

Anyone interested in making a donation to the Fund can find out more by going to the Rural Fund's webpage at http://www.justgiving.com/Essex-Rural-Fund.
