towards the cost of IT support?
A new service is being launched in Essex to provide IT support for local voluntary and community organisations. Rural Community Council of Essex (RCCE) is working in partnership with Suffolk Acre’s Suffolk Online to develop Essex Online.
Good IT infrastructure is essential for the VCS to operate effectively and efficiently in an increasingly competitive environment. Access to high quality, reliable IT support is vital if VCS are to succeed and thrive.
Research suggests two thirds of VCS organisations in Essex rely on a volunteer, depend on staff to figure it out for themselves or resort to using a commercial IT company when they have an IT issue.
Essex Online is a social enterprise IT services provider which aims to develop long term sustainable provision for VCS in the county. To support this aim a limited number of bursaries have been made available for qualifying organisations towards the cost of support packages.
Bursaries
Organisations can apply who meet certain criteria including:
Bursaries of up to £300 are available towards the purchase of Silver or Gold annual support packages only. Organisations who take ICT Support packages that cost more than the bursary amount will be expected to finance the difference themselves.
Bursary Application Process
We will endeavour to notify applicants of the outcome within four weeks of receiving the completed application. As there are a limited number of bursaries available early application is advised.
