Grow Your Own Alternative Edibles
by James Wong
Thursday, 15th November - 19.30 Chelmsford

Did you know that there are well over 2,500 edible plant species which are perfectly happy to grow in the UK?  We no longer eat as we did 50 years ago – our diets are more exciting, varied and international.  Why, then, do we stick to growing the same 20 or so crops, which represent a meagre 1 per cent of what we could actually grow?

In his talk, James will demonstrate that there is life beyond spuds, sprouts and lettuce by revealing the huge array of delicious, exciting and experimental crops that will thrive in our Essex climate.  With very little effort you can easily turn your veg patch into a larder of ‘superfoods’ and exotic delicacies!

This talk is suitable for both the novice and experienced grower looking for ideas, tips and a bit of inspiration!
