1) Community Agent - Maldon (South)This is a permanent, home-based part time position.

Do you enjoy or want a rewarding role working for a local charity, supporting adults to live independently?  (This is not a carers role).

We are a network of people who provide advice and guidance to adults; in particular older people, but it can be anyone over 18 who requires a home visit to help them to remain living in their own homes. We’re also here to help Informal carers.

The job involves visiting people in their own homes – on an appointment system – and explaining the help and support that is available to meet their individual needs. It is not a personal caring role.

The job is flexible to fit around personal/family commitments, working between 15 and 20 hours a week .

The starting salary is £12.00 per hour plus travelling expenses. Full training and support will be provided but you must have a good knowledge of the local community and the district.

You must be able to demonstrate that you can proactively engage with and support people in the community often on a one-to-one basis. Working as part of a wider team, we form a network of agents covering Essex. You must have excellent spoken and written communication skills and possess the ability to problem solve. 2) Rural Housing Enabler

Rural Community Council of Essex (RCCE) has a vacancy within our Community Engagement Team.

Part time Rural Housing Enabler

Hours: 21 hrs per week. starting salary £26,000 (pro rata).

Fixed Term until 31st March 2025

At RCCE, we believe that communities have the power to effect change and one of the most important areas a rural community can do this is with housing. People often find themselves priced out of the area where their support network, family or job is, and our Rural Housing Enabler Service is crucial in helping rural communities find solutions to this important issue.

RCCE are delighted that with government funding, we can increase our Rural Housing Enabler Service, to help build on the excellent work already being done to bring forward more affordable rural housing in Essex. This often begins with helping communities identify their local housing needs and then supporting them to bring forward the schemes they need and want.

This is an exciting time to join RCCE as we expand our team. You will work with the Senior Rural Housing Enabler to promote the service across Essex and provide advice and guidance for parishes, including helping them identify their local housing needs and support them through the process of bringing forward a development. You will produce case studies, provide administrative support to our Rural Housing Advisory Group meetings, and keep up to date with local and national policy, as well as being involved with training and network events.

To be successful in the role you need to be versatile, a good communicator, who enjoys engaging with groups and individuals. Experience of, or ability to present to parish councils and groups is required, as well being able to prioritise and problem solve. The capacity to understand policies and manage and create new partnerships will help you in the role.

If you have a can-do attitude with an understanding of the challenges that rural communities face and have a passion for enabling and enthusing people, then we would love to hear from you.

There will be some evening and weekend working, but time off in lieu is given for this work.

This post requires you to have a full driving licence and access to a car.
